Grandparents – patience hewn from trial.

We love our Grandparents, my kids love their Grandparents. We are still lucky to have 2 on each side AND 2 GREAT Grandparents. They have the patience that I sometimes lack and the relaxed calm that I also sometimes (mostly) don’t have. All of them have been so loving and kind and fantastic examples (all in different ways) of what Jesus is like. I am not sure on the data about relationships and faith with Grandparents but our family benefits from their steadfast, passionate faith in Jesus.

Grandparents — they bring offerings that no other can duplicate: An offering of wisdom that comes from living a lifetime. An offering of patience hewn from trial. An offering of laughter learned through making the most of both prosperous and lean times. ~ Elisa Morgan

God’s Words of Life on Grandparents

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green. — Psalm 92:12-14

Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge. — Proverbs 14:26

Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, Your mighty acts to all who are to come. — Psalm 71:18

I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old — things we have heard and known, things our ancestors have told us. We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done. — Psalm 78:2-4

[Older women] can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children. — Titus 2:4
